“We all once were young, impulsive and quixotic. Though this is a show talking about the story of teenagers, those who are in his or her thirties or forties can also feel its charm.”
“Despite the fact that the story happened in the West more than a century ago, and that there are ‘foreign’ elements in the show like Greek mythology, Faust and religion, the expression of the theme is unaffected. There are many realistic meanings for the China in the new century.”
Silenced and dismissed in the firmly censored world of 19th century Germany, a group of teenagers are forced to discover the truth behind their feelings unaided. They find that through each other they unlock a bold and brave new world – with both beautiful and tragic consequences. The musical follows this turn of the century’s “Romeo and Juliet” as they learn how to communicate, and how to love, in a world that’s trying to keep them apart.
